As a Miami native, now public servant and Cybersecurity Analyst for the City of Tallahassee, I’ve seen firsthand how hard this economy is on everyday families. People are behind on taxes, behind on mortgage payments, student loans, and are fighting to keep up with how expensive life has become.

Meanwhile, many homeowners don’t realize they may be owed money after a foreclosure.

These funds — called surplus funds — are the leftover profit after the county sells a property at auction. If the winning bid is more than what’s owed on taxes, fees, and costs, that extra money is often legally owed back to the former owner. Too often, it just sits there, unclaimed.

I started MECA to change that.

Our mission is to help homeowners reclaim equity that belongs to them — returning wealth to the people and restoring financial dignity to communities. Our vision is to recover $10,000,000 in equity for families by the end of 2026, delivering real financial relief back home where it belongs.
